At present, the number of farmers adopting group housing of sows are increasing in China.Group housing of sows can save space and improve the welfare level, but compare with individual systems, production performance, fighting and health may also be a problem of concern. In addition,The reviews on these aspects are limited, therefore, this paper mainly describes the effects of different feeding modes, floor quality and padding on the pregnant sows' behavior, physiology, damage, immune and performance based on several years' production experiences. It proposed a series of practical recommendations to improve welfare and reproduction in group housed sows.
